The Clachan Bed and Breakfast

My wife and I stayed at the Clachan for 5 days in May 2009. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and modern. The breakfasts were excellent and cooked to order by the hostess, Elspeth. Elspeth went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable to the extent of checking every 30 minutes or so to determine if the Orkney ferry could run - and then suggesting other places to see when it couldn't.

A car is essential to see Caithness and even here Elspeth was able to point us in the right direction to hire one. Wick is a good base for exploring the region and The Clachan is an excellent B&B to stay while doing so.
