About Me
Andrew Parfitt Studied Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading from 1994 to 1997 and has been a member of the British Acupuncture council since 1997.
I have since continued my studies of Oriental Medicine, also qualifying as a Shiatsu Practitioner after completing a professional practitioner course with the European Shiatsu School. I also hold an IIHHT certificate in body massage, a certificate in Thermo-Auricular therapy and studied chair massage with the Academy of On-Site Massage. I have recently completed a post graduate diploma in Nutritional Therapy with the LCTA and University of East London.
My interest in Oriental medicine comes from the martial arts which I have studied almost continuously since 1985.
I have been practicing the Korean martial art of Kuk Sool Won since 1993 under the guidance of
KJN Phillip Holmes, a sixth degree Master and currently hold the rank of 3rd Dan
Prior to this I was a member of Eastbourne Kyokushinkai Karate club for just over three years, between the two I studied Tai Chi.
Since 1992 I have regularly practiced Qigong including various different forms and styles.
I am registered with the Shiatsu Society (UK) as a teacher and run a branch of the European Shiatsu School in Eastbourne and teach the schools Seated Acupressure bodywork course and Sotai course.
I run Acupuncture and Shiatsu Clinics in Eastbourne and will frequently be found at mind body and soul events promoting alternative health and of course myself.
Before training in Oriental Medicine I was a professional chef and owned a restaurant in Eastbourne. I can still frequently be found slaving over a hot stove in my old profession as I have a great love of food and the art of cooking.
