MBAs and other traditional training from the business schools and training companies are great for giving tools, techniques and frameworks for understanding the world and reaching conclusions where there is a right and a wrong answer.
Unfortunately as most Managing Directors know, the most important leadership decisions are usually ones with no right or wrong answer. Instead they are often 49:51 balanced decisions where both sides have merit.

In making such decisions the insights provided by a dozen Managing Directors with different skills, different experiences and different personalities is invaluable in understanding fully all the angles that affect a decision. It's like having a board of supportive non executives there to help you, except that everyone there's a peer, an equal with the sole purpose of helping you in exchange for you returning the complement when you get the chance.
