The acronym also meaning economical, as Eco Paint coined the word before Green Earth Friendly Interior Paints were invented around 1999-2000, as both ecological and economical are closely held today. Funny how we derived at the company name back in 1993, as it seemed all the stars lined up in a straight line, pointing to this name. Back in 1993, the first show of it's kind, The Eco Challenge was very popular on Discovery. My wife Karen, an environmental geologist senior staff, working at Woodward Clyde Environmental, being her field of study. Also needing to purchase a new watch, and you guessed it, a Citizen's Eco Drive, I still wear today. The term Eco had significant meaning, consciences of our environment, using at all possible, waterborne paints having lower V.O.C's (volatile odor content) than the Alkyd Enamels (oil based), raising the bar for our environment standards.
