Lancing Marine are approved marinisers of Ford diesel engines which are generally similar to engines in use in trucks, agricultural machinery and light vans, and so the basic mechanical parts are available as spares from Ford and New Holland dealers in most countries. Marinisation makes use of well tried and proven Bowman and Jabsco products together with as many normal commercially available components as is possible. All figures given are guaranteed accurate within 5%.
All engines are built for marine use with all new components, complete with full marinising equipment. Morse control connections, rubber mounts, exhaust water injection, start/run switch, warning lights and 4m wiring harness, connected at engine end, with plug and socket at panel end, terminated ready for instruments. Horsepowers are measured at the crankshaft, and appropriate deduction must be made for transmission losses to assess nett shaft horsepower.
All engines include transmission adapters for any of our appropriate listed gearboxes, sterndrives, jet pumps or alternators together with the appropriate cooler. All engines carry makers' warranty for 12 months.
The Lancing Marine team is headed by Mike Bellamy who founded the business in 1970, and has extensive experience In circuit and offshore powerboat racing both as a competitor, as a team manager, and as an organiser. For many years He has run a succession of cruising powerboats that have gained him valuable experience in the development of new Lancing Marine product lines. His interest in performance powercraft led him to develop the Lancing Marine propeller computer programme, now one of the most widely used boat speed and propeller calculation systems in the world.
