We use this page as a ‘sand box’ to demonstrate to businesses just how easy it is to create a professional web site using the Brownbook web site creator.

As the founders we take great pride in what we have created and how we are re-shaping the concept of a business directory – a business directory for businesses and people, built by businesses and people.

We have a few simple concepts:

Low cost or no cost; gone are the days of premium pricing, charging businesses high prices because you can… we don’t employ a sales force, nor do we have expensive
costs in our business, we all work from our homes, communicate via Skype and IM, so apart from servers and bandwidth, we have no costs to pass on. This means we can set any prices really low.

We all know best; gone are the days of needing a large production department to produce a directory full of business phone numbers for a city or a country… with the connected World that we now live in, we can do it ourselves (Wikipedia has proved that…). We know the details of our business, we know the businesses that we use
and Brownbook is the global platform on which all this information can be stored and retrieved.

Open, open, open; we regard the information that is in Brownbook as belonging to us all. So we make sure all the search engines like Google can get in and see it so that we all find Brownbook links in the major search engine results pages. We use OpenSearch so any developer can add Brownbook data to their web site. In short we make Brownbook as open as possible.

Reward the people that contribute; we want people to be incentivized to continually contribute to Brownbook, wherever they are in the World, and when those businesses claim their business and pay us money we will pay the last contributor 20% of all the money that we ever receive from that company for the lifetime of that customer.

That’s it, simple. And that is what Brownbook is all about
