My family and I went to visit the restaurant after hearing and reading about their popular dishes. We went during lunchtime and during the weekday so it wasn’t very busy.
The restaurant is on commercial road in east London and very easily accessible by bus (115 or 15). We booked our table a day early but you can walk in without booking especially when the restaurant isn’t busy.
We were greeted by Akram and he served us whilst we were there.
The restaurant is small/medium in size but they do have a swanky party/reception area downstairs.
We didn’t have to wait long to order and food was pretty much served on time. Akram checked up on us regularly even when it was starting to get a bit busy.
We ordered pani puri, chicken biriyani, masala fish, dahl, chicken karahi, rogini naan, plain pilau, chicken wings and chips, masala chips and for desert we ordered kheer and halwa. The food was delicious and served hot. They didn’t make any of the dishes too spicy or bland. The traditional flavours of Pakistani food was evident in all the dishes.
The only suggestions that I have is that they could have put the heating on in the sitting area. The weather was cold and the restaurant was even colder. Customers all had their coats on. Also, they should increase their portion sizes. Their prices are closer to the higher end of Indian dining but the portion sizes were disappointingly small.
